Assistance for Returning Volunteers

Greetings! With the recent return home of many of the Phoenix volunteers and the expected return of the rest in the coming week, the international office has requested that we send you the medical tips below and the attached letter about re-entry issues your volunteer may be experiencing. As a board, we have been talking with volunteers who have returned and know that several are experiencing some emotional reactions to having left their Latin American Communities and coming back home to the United States. I imagine that some of you parents are also experiencing some adjustments as your volunteer comes back from a life changing experience. We encourage the vols to utilize each other as supports, and we encourage you as parents to utilize each other and to call on our board members such as Andy Ryan, Stephanie Clark and Jenifer Partch who have all experienced having their volunteer return from country and are willing to listen to your experience with a sympathetic ear! We are looking forward to seeing all parents and volunteers at the Welcome Back Party on 8/20. (We should have details about that soon). Laura
